Citibank New Zealand is a part of Citigroup, one of the largest financial services organisations in the world, with over 240,000 staff in over 100 countries.
The bank has opened its first representative office in New Zealand in 1974 and became a registered bank in July 1987. Three years later, in November 1990 they became a settlement bank, allowing them to directly participate in the New Zealand Clearing System.
Unfortunately Citibank in New Zealand does not offer any retail banking (personal bank accounts, home loans, savings) and are completely focused on investments, trade solutions, and securities/fund services.
Citibank’s website states that they provide these services for New Zealand’s most prominent companies, and can assist with fund transfers to over 130 countries whilst their foreign exchange services allows them to trade in over 100 currencies as well.
